About Kenya
Kenya sits on the equator in East Africa, with Nairobi as its capital and Mombasa as its oldest city. The country is named after Mount Kenya, the second highest peak on the continent, and it gained independence from Britain in 1963. Tea, coffee and cut flowers anchor its farming, while the Masai Mara and its distance runners are world famous.
