Countries and precise places

For countries with a scoring outline, a pin inside that country earns the full points available for your clue. You do not need to find its capital. Pins near simplified borders have a small tolerance.

For cities, landmarks and places without a scoring outline, points depend on distance from the target, with a small full-credit radius. Nearby misses earn more than distant ones.

Outside the correct country, distance credit can contribute up to 35% of the clue's points and fades to zero at 8,000 km. Precise targets have a smaller 12% distance tail fading at 6,000 km. Local distance credit can also apply near the target; the stronger credit is used. Final scores are rounded to whole points.

Revealing an answer without guessing earns zero. Five correct answers on clue five can still total 500.
