About Burundi
Burundi is a small landlocked country in the African Great Lakes region, with Gitega as its political capital and Bujumbura as its largest city and economic capital. Independent from Belgian administration in 1962, it endured two genocides and a long civil war closed by the Arusha Agreement. Coffee, tea and its royal drummers are its best-known exports.
