About Tonga
Tonga is a Polynesian kingdom of 171 islands scattered across the South Pacific directly south of Samoa. It is the only Pacific nation to have kept its monarchical government throughout the colonial era, and the only extant indigenous monarchy in the islands. Its capital sits on Tongatapu, where over 70 percent of the population lives.
