About Marshall Islands

The Marshall Islands is an atoll nation in the Northwestern Pacific, built from 29 coral atolls split between the Ratak and Ralik chains. Lagoon waters make up 98.47 percent of its territory, and the capital Majuro holds roughly half the population. Between 1946 and 1958 the United States used its atolls for 67 nuclear tests.
