About Estonia

Estonian belongs to the Finnic branch of the Uralic family, unrelated to Latvian and Lithuanian to the south. The Singing Revolution of 1987 to 1991 brought hundreds of thousands to the Tallinn song festival grounds. Today most public services run online, and in 2005 it became the first country to use binding internet voting nationwide, reaching parliamentary elections in 2007.
