About Poland

Poland sits in Central Europe between the Baltic Sea and the Carpathians, with Warsaw as its capital and largest city. Its union with Lithuania was once the largest state in Europe and adopted Europe's first modern constitution in 1791. Invaded in September 1939, it became the first communist country to re-establish liberal democracy in 1989.
