About Monaco
Monaco is the world's second smallest sovereign state after Vatican City and the most densely populated. The Grimaldi family has ruled the Riviera principality since 1297, and its fortunes turned on the Monte Carlo casino and the end of income tax collection. Today it hosts a Formula One race on its harbour streets.
