About Belize

Belize is the only Central American country with English as its official language and no Pacific coastline. Its capital, Belmopan, was built inland after Hurricane Hattie devastated Belize City in 1961. Offshore lies the second-largest barrier reef in the world, and the country remains a Commonwealth realm.
